The benefits of CBD vaping
Who hasn’t heard a friend complain about their addiction to tobacco? Who hasn’t found themselves in that awkward situation where everyone turns to look at you, because the smell of cannabidiol is so strikingly similar to that of cannabis? What’s more, who hasn’t frozen their fingers off in winter, smoking a joint when it’s -10°C?
With every inconvenience, a little voice pops into our heads: vaping could well solve these unpleasant situations. And with good reason! CBD vaping, in all its forms (puff, vape pen, e-cigarette, vaporiser), offers nothing but benefits. Easier to use, tastier and more effective, CBD vaping lets you enjoy all the benefits of the hemp plant without a single hassle.
What are the benefits of CBD vaping? Why choose it? What different products are available? Which product should you choose depending on your needs? In this article, we answer all your questions!
Cannabidiol vaping: less harmful
Let’s be frank: yes, vaping CBD is less harmful than smoking a cigarette or a joint. There is much debate surrounding e-cigarettes; some praise them, others condemn them, but generally speaking, we can already say that e-cigarettes, vape pens or vaping are far less harmful to health than cigarettes.
The reason is simple. The main toxic components of cigarettes are:
- 1. Tar
- 2. Toxic gases, primarily carbon monoxide
- 3. Heavy metals, such as mercury and lead
What is the common factor among all these harmful substances? You guessed it: combustion. This means that over 90% of the harmful and carcinogenic substances in tobacco are released as a result of combustion.
In the case of CBD vaping, unlike a joint, there is no combustion. There’s a reason why we distinguish between ‘vaping a CBD e-cigarette’ and ‘smoking’! In the former, it’s not smoke from combustion but vapour!
E-cigarettes, vaping and CBD puffs are therefore much less harmful than joints. What’s more, they contain no nicotine, so they do not cause physical dependence.
This makes them a healthier option for former cannabis smokers.
What are CBD e-liquids made of?
If you’re already familiar with vaping and e-liquids, you won’t be surprised by the composition of a CBD e-liquid. The same manufacturing methods are used in the tobacco cessation industry as in the cannabis cessation industry. A CBD e-liquid therefore has a similar composition to nicotine e-liquid, minus the nicotine and with added cannabidiol.
Vegetable glycerine
Vegetable glycerine, also known by the abbreviation VG, is a humectant and hygroscopic agent. It promotes condensation and has softening properties. In a CBD vape, this helps to give the vapour texture and smoothness.
Propylene glycol
Propylene glycol, known by the abbreviation PG, is a chemical compound that helps to reproduce the ‘throat hit’, i.e. the sensation of friction felt at the back of the throat when smoking. It also acts as a flavour enhancer.
CBD e-liquid
When we talk about vaping cannabidiol, we’re talking about CBD in the e-liquid’s composition! Alongside propylene glycol and glycerine, there are cannabis extracts that allow you to experience all the benefits of hemp. The extracts are taken directly from the hemp plant. There are two types of CBD e-liquid:
- Isolate e-liquids: containing pure cannabidiol. These could be described as ‘broad spectrum’ or pure liquids.
- E-liquids obtained through maceration. A CBD flower is macerated to extract all its cannabinoids. These could be described as ‘full-spectrum’ liquids. This type of e-liquid contains legal, trace amounts of THC.
Flavours
Another advantage of vaping cannabidiol is the wide range of flavours available. Whilst a full-spectrum maceration will have a pronounced hemp taste, for those seeking authenticity, an e-liquid or vape will deliver fruity, lemony, sweet, minty or vanilla flavours depending on preference.
All the effects of CBD in a short time: vaping
Vaping CBD has the advantage of delivering effects extremely quickly. This is because the vapour enters the lungs. The active substances easily pass through our respiratory barriers, producing effects in just a few seconds.
What’s more, the vapour from an e-cigarette, vape pen or vape is absorbed more easily by the body. This is referred to as better ‘bioavailability’. In other words, you consume fewer cannabinoids, but you feel more!
Vaping CBD can potentially:
- Help you relax
- Ease your anxiety
- Reduce your chronic or occasional pain
- Improve your sleep
- Reduce feelings of daily stress

Which type of CBD vape should you choose?
There’s something for everyone when it comes to vaping! Whether you’re an occasional vaper, a former heavy smoker, or using it for relief from ailments, there’s a liquid and vape type to suit every need.
Occasional users: For occasional vapers, we recommend puffs or vape pens. With lower cannabinoid concentrations and a milder effect, these vapes help you enjoy a more peaceful and less stressful daily life.
Regular users: Regular users can choose an e-cigarette to vape CBD. You can choose from a wide range of e-liquids and cannabidiol concentrations to suit your needs.
Cannabis withdrawal: Full-spectrum vape pens can be the solution to start cannabis withdrawal. The residual traces of THC will provide a placebo effect, whilst the flavours will replicate those of a joint.
