How is CBD ice rock made? What are its effects?
Remember! We’ve already brought you up to date, in one of our articles, on the subject of CBD Moon Rock. These cannabidiol flowers, coated in crystallised CBD oil, are unique in that they provide much stronger effects, thanks to their high concentration of cannabinoids. But have you heard of Ice Rock CBD? The methods used to produce Ice Rock are similar to those for Moon Rock, with a few minor differences. Yet it is these slight differences that make Ice Rock CBD unique!
Key takeaways:
- CBD Ice Rock is a CBD flower coated in isolate, offering a high concentration of cannabinoids.
- Invented after Moon Rock, Ice Rock is distinguished by its white, rough appearance, reminiscent of a block of ice.
- It is made by coating a dense CBD flower with isolate, followed by a dusting of pollen.
- Ice Rock allows you to choose the specific cannabinoid, offering targeted effects such as relaxation or pain relief.

A brief history of Ice Rock
Ice Rock is said to have been invented shortly after Moon Rock, in 2014. Whilst Moon Rock became popular at the start of the century thanks to the rapper Kurupt, Californian experts came up with the idea of further increasing the potential of ‘rock’ flowers. Instead of coating the hemp flower (traditionally Girl Scout Cookies) in crystallised oil (concentrated to around 60% cannabinoids), they decided to go one step further: coating it in isolate.
This significantly increases the cannabinoid content of Ice Rock, making it the most potent hemp flower on the market.
Where does the name ‘Ice Rock’ come from?
Ice Rock takes its name from its rather distinctive appearance, which resembles a block of ice. Isolate is a very white powder! By coating a flower in CBD isolate, you get this rough, white pebble-like appearance.
Its name also reflects its connection to Moon rock.
How is CBD Ice rock made?
To make Ice Rock, we use exactly the same method as for making Moon Rock, with the difference that we add a ‘coating’ of isolate rather than crystallised oil.
So, to make Ice Rock:
- First, you need to select a dense, sturdy CBD flower. Traditionally, Girl Scout Cookies is used for its intense, spicy flavour.
- Once the flower has been selected, it undergoes the same optimisation process as a traditional CBD flower (drying, trimming, etc.)
- Next, the bud is coated in isolate (CBD, CBG, CBN, etc.)
- It is dusted with pollen to enhance its potency and flavours.
What is CBD isolate?
We keep hearing about isolate, but what is the difference between isolate and crystallised oil? Isolate is a very potent concentrate of cannabinoids. To produce it, a specific cannabinoid is extracted and condensed, resulting in a powder that is 99% pure!
That’s actually why it’s called an isolate! By definition, it’s all about… isolating!
There are different types of isolate: you can make CBD isolate, but also CBG, CBC or CBN. Isolate is regularly used in cosmetics as it allows pure cannabinoids to be concentrated by separating them from the plant material.
Contrary to what one might think, isolate is the result of a natural extraction process, directly from the hemp flower. It simply involves isolating the cannabinoids. This is why CBD isolate is just as organic as the flower from which it is made.
Isolate and Ice Rock: the benefits
As Ice Rock is made from isolate, its cannabinoid concentration is significantly higher than any type of CBD flower available on the market. But that’s not its only advantage! With an ice rock, you can choose which cannabinoid you want to prioritise. For example, if you want to give your body a peaceful rest, perhaps a CBD ice rock will be the best option, whereas if you want a strong soothing effect, CBN ice rock will be the best choice.
Each cannabinoid has its own unique effects! You might as well make the most of them…
The different types of ice rocks and their effects
Depending on the effects you’re looking for, we recommend different types of ice rocks! This is only natural, given all the unique properties of cannabinoids. As a reminder, cannabinoids influence our bodies through their interaction with our endocannabinoid system, which itself regulates many of our physiological functions. However, phytocannabinoids (derived from hemp plants, in particular) do not interact with our bodies in exactly the same way. Depending on the ice rock you choose, the effects will therefore not be exactly the same.
CBD Ice Rock
CBD (cannabidiol) Ice Rock is the best known! This ice rock, coated in cannabidiol, provides all the benefits of cannabidiol. Among other things, it may:
- Relax the body, thanks to the cannabinoid’s muscle-relaxing effect.
- Provide anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects.
- Have an anti-stress effect.
- Reduce muscle spasms and contractions.
- Promote sleep.
These five points are the most notable, according to many reviews, when discussing Ice Rock CBD.

Ice Rock CBG (cannabigerol) is similar to Ice Rock CBD with a few notable differences:

CBN Ice Rock
CBN (cannabinol) Ice Rock is more potent in terms of effects than the other cannabinoids presented. Like CBD and CBG, it has pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. But above all, it is a good:
- Appetite stimulant.
- Natural stress reliever.
- Sleep regulator.
CBN is best suited to those seeking strong and immediate effects on anxiety or sleep disorders.
Of course, cannabinoids are not medicines and are intended solely for wellness purposes. If you have any questions, please consult your GP.
Are Ice Rocks legal?
We cannot stress this enough: all cannabinoid products are legal, provided they contain less than 0.2% THC. At Sixty8, all products comply with current legislation!
