Consuming THCP: How to do it?
CBG9, THCP, THCJD, H4CBD, HHCP and HHCPO are now banned in France. Discover CBD as an alternative!
In the past, we didn’t really ask ourselves this question. When we talked about CBD, we immediately thought of consuming a flower via a joint, rolled using traditional methods. Non-psychoactive phytocannabinoids appeared to be a solution to replace THC-containing cannabis, which is illegal and dangerous to health.
Today, with the evolution of the hemp market, a variety of new products have emerged. What’s more, it is not just the products that are evolving, but also the methods of consumption, the cannabinoids used, and the dosages.
Among the new cannabinoids that have emerged is THCP. This potent phytocannabinoid is flooding the market and is already available in several formats, much like CBD. It can be found particularly in online shops.
How should THCP be consumed? In which products can it be found? What dosage should be followed? Are there any specific recommendations? We answer all your questions!
Know what you’re consuming: THCP
Before buying THCP, it’s best to know what we’re talking about! THCP, also known as tetrahydrocannabiphorol, is a phytocannabinoid that occurs naturally – albeit in small quantities – in hemp plants. This cannabinoid was only discovered recently! It was in 2019 that a group of Italian researchers discovered it, as part of a study on a strain of medicinal cannabis.
Between 2019 and 2023, little was heard of tetrahydrocannabiphorol. It has only really come to the fore in the last few months, following the ban on HHC and its two derivatives, HHCO and HHCP.
Before consuming THCP, it is therefore worth noting that this cannabinoid has not yet been extensively studied. For this reason, it is best to consume it in moderation and to be well-informed about its potential effects.
Who is THCP intended for?
Are you a beginner? Would you like to discover the world of hemp to relax, relieve pain or regulate your sleep? Discover the benefits of CBD!
THCP is not intended for beginners. The reason is quite simple: it is a potent cannabinoid that may take novices by surprise. Tetrahydrocannabiphorol is intended for enthusiasts and connoisseurs who know what to expect and are seeking a sensory and mental experience.
For all beginners, we recommend milder cannabinoids, particularly cannabidiol (CBD), which provides a gentler experience.
Consuming THCP
In which products can you find THCP? Although relatively new, tetrahydrocannabiphorol is found in all the products you’re used to seeing on CBD e-shops: THCP vapes, THCP resins, THCP flowers. But how should it be consumed? Can tetrahydrocannabiphorol be used in the same way as cannabidiol?
THCP flowers
You prefer the traditional method! Vapes? Not enough for you. For regular users, THCP flowers can be a way to experience all the pleasure of hemp. Thanks to the flower buds, you can experience all the sensations of cannabis, in a legal form! Whether for taste or sensory reasons, the flowers allow you to vary your experience thanks to numerous different strains.
But then, how do you consume a THCP flower? Three methods are highlighted:
- Rolling a THCP joint. This method is not recommended under any circumstances as it involves combustion, which is harmful to health.

- Make a herbal tea or a culinary preparation with THCP. Gentler than smoking, this method allows the effects of the cannabinoid to be released over several hours.

- Vaporising THCP. This method is a must for avoiding combustion – and all the dangers it entails – whilst enjoying the sensory and gustatory pleasures of the THCP flower. To do this, make sure you have a suitable vaporiser.

THCP resin
Regular users will be particularly pleased to discover that THCP resins are already available! Hashish, which is particularly popular in France, will win over the majority in its tetrahydrocannabiphorol version, which is more potent and compelling than the CBD version. The methods of consumption are the same as for flowers.
THCP Vapes
THCP vapes offer a more pleasant, discreet and easy way to consume. With delicious, often fruity flavours, THCP vapes allow you to vape anywhere and at any time. It should be noted that when vaped, the effects are immediate and bioavailability is increased. This means that the body absorbs tetrahydrocannabiphorol immediately and in greater quantities.
Is it legal to consume THCP
This cannabinoid is not prohibited by European or French legislation. It is therefore entirely legal to consume THCP. However, the product must comply with current regulations, namely a THC content of less than 0.3%.
As long as the THCP flower, resin or vape complies with this limit, it is entirely legal. Always check local laws, particularly if purchasing or consuming outside France.
Are there any specific recommendations?
Before consuming tetrahydrocannabiphorol, we recommend that you find out more about this cannabinoid. As it is potent, it can cause adverse effects such as impaired concentration, confusion, anxiety and drowsiness. This is why you should never consume THCP before performing a task that requires concentration, such as driving, operating dangerous machinery or supervising vulnerable or dependent people (children, the elderly, etc.)
Never consume THCP if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or in the presence of children. You should also avoid consuming THCP if you are on medication, as we do not know its potential for drug interactions. So please be careful!
Finally, you should always consume tetrahydrocannabiphorol in moderation. There are no specific dosage recommendations, but we advise starting with low doses and never overusing it – even if you are experienced!
