While CBD is present in the cannabis plant in sufficient quantities to be used naturally or extracted for other products, HHC is present in the plant in very small amounts. Therefore, it is synthesized in the laboratory and then mixed or sprayed into the particular product to which the effects of HHC are to be imparted.

The effects of HHC are indeed different than those of CBD. HHC possesses mild psychotropic effects that are similar to those of THC. Nevertheless, HHC is freely available for sale, although it has not been on the German market for long. This means that you can (currently) purchase and consume it without any problems.

We advise you to be very careful when using HHC products. It is strongly discouraged to consume it during the day, especially if you drive or have health problems that are incompatible with its consumption. HHC has a euphoric effect and has hardly been examined in long-term scientific studies. For this reason, HHC should be consumed in moderation and only occasionally. Among other things, HHC can help you make the transition from THC to CBD to quit smoking marijuana.

How does HHC work? As mentioned earlier, HHC has a euphoric effect quite similar to that of THC. However, the synthetic molecule HHC (hexahydrocannabinol) is less potent than the natural molecule THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and can lead to intense relaxation and mild euphoria. This effect does not last as long as that of THC.

The similarity between the effects of HHC and THC is due to the almost identical molecular structure of the two molecules. HHC has only two more carbon molecules than THC. Robert Adams discovered this molecule in the 1950s, around the same time as CBD. Since this molecule has psychotropic effects, scientists have so far paid less attention to it than CBD.

The effects usually last between one and two hours before slowly wearing off.

If HHC is similar to THC, is it addictive? First of all, it should be remembered that according to the French drug report by Professor Pr Roques (Académie des Sciences) in 1998:

- Cannabinoids are classified as substances with a “low” physical or psychological dependence and a “very low” general toxicity.

- Tobacco and alcohol, on the other hand, cause “very strong” physical and psychological dependence and have strong (alcohol) or very strong (tobacco) general toxicity.

HHC: the contraindications Due to the effects of HHC, this product should be kept out of the reach of children. Pregnant and lactating women are strongly discouraged from consuming HHC. Sixty8 also strongly advises against consuming HHC during the day, especially when driving or operating machinery.

HHC and saliva test: positive or not? After doing some testing ourselves, it appears that saliva testing can come back positive for HHC.

25 minutes after our test subject consumed HHC, we took a saliva test. The test was positive but only partially stained. This test would still be considered positive by law enforcement agencies.

That's because of the type of tests the police use: they don't actually test for the presence of THC, but for the presence of a molecule that is produced by our bodies once we've consumed THC. Therefore, a saliva test will come up positive for most cannabinoids. Only when a blood or urine test is performed can the cannabinoid that was actually consumed be accurately determined.

Unfortunately we cannot verify that HHC can be detected by these blood/urine tests in the same way as CBD.

Therefore, we recommend that you only use HHC at home in the evenings and avoid using it if you go under regular drug tests at your workplace.
